Skate Facilities

There are four skate facilities across Portsmouth that offer free open access to city skaters and are intended to compliment the international standard ramps available at Southsea Skatepark.

They are designed with both beginners and intermediates in mind, aimed at supporting what is now the fastest growing youth activity in the world. The sites are :

• Bransbury Park, Eastney  -  half-pipe ramp, street skate course

• Milton Park, Milton  -  street skate course

• Sevenoaks Road, Wymering  -  half-pipe ramp

• Stamshaw Park, Stamshaw  -  street skate course

Bransbury Park and Milton Park were a Milton Neighbourhood Forum initiative, funded by The Big Lottery Fund, Barratt Southampton and Portsmouth City Council. Sevenoaks Road and Stamshaw Park were provided and financed by Onyx Environmental Trust and Portsmouth City Council.  The recent addition of a street skate course at Bransbury Park was funded by the Barclays 'Spaces for Sport' initiative.

In-line skating, skateboarding and BMX riding can be a demanding sport. All our sites have notices that highlight the fact that these facilities are not supervised and that safety equipment should be worn at all times (helmet, elbow pads, wrist pads and knee pads).
