Developing Portsmouth
Last updated: 03 April 2013 10:45 UK
The regeneration of Portsmouth is under way, bringing more growth and prosperity for local people.
The city is in line for a billion pounds worth of investment – bringing 16,000 new jobs, 5,000 new homes and a gigantic boost to its economy.
Huge schemes like the redevelopment of the rundown Tipner area are under way. The transformation of the city centre and the creation of an out-of-town business park are in the pipeline.
We have brought other organisations together, in the public and private sectors, to work with us to help regenerate the city, under the banner of Shaping Portsmouth.
Our video, above, shows how Portsmouth is changing for the better.
Our regeneration strategy shows our vision for growth and how it will be achieved.
Below you can also see:
- A presentation about the exciting changes ahead and the estimated £1bn in investment coming to the city over the next 20 years
- Our Strategy for Success leaflet, outlining the successes of Shaping Portsmouth in its first two years
- Guidelines on how your organisation can use the Shaping Portsmouth branding and spread the word about regeneration
If you would like to become a Portsmouth Ambassador and help inspire young people and others about the great future for Portsmouth, please email Kathy Wadsworth, our strategic director for regeneration, at business@portsmouthcc.gov.uk, putting ‘ambassador’ in the subject line.
