Level two foster carer
Level two foster carers provide a home for some of the more challenging placements. Many of the children and young people present severe behavioural challenges and level two foster care is seen as a positive alternative to residential care. All placements will be planned and you will need to work closely with the social care team and other professionals. You are likely to be asked to assist in therapeutic work, educational programmes and to take part in observational and assessment programmes.
Person specification
You must have proven childcare experience and be able to provide a high standard of care and commitment. Level two carers will need to provide a separate bedroom to accommodate foster children. You will need to undertake additional training and there is an opportunity to gain an award at NVQ level two.
Fee
You will receive a boarding out allowance and a professional fee for each child who is placed with you.
