Residential recycling and refuse provision
This leaflet provides advice on the provision of refuse and recycling facilities in residential developments.Domestic waste is increasing at a rate of 3% each year. Up to 50% of this could be recycled and local authorities are required to increase significantly the level of waste recycled over the next twenty years.
The Environmental Protection Act 1990 and The Building Regulations 2000 require you to obtain the agreement of the waste collection authority with regard to the provision of waste facilities. This is in addition to Planning and Building Control consents.
