Information for schools
Schools Environmental Education ProgrammePortsmouth City Council works in partnership with Portsmouth Friends of the Earth to provide an environmental education programme for schools. The programme aims to raise environmental awareness by focusing on:
- Reducing
- Reusing
- Recycling
- Composting
- Taking part in the Pompey Recycling Scheme
We can provide talks and activities for assemblies and classroom sessions, which can be tailored for all age groups. We can help with teaching activities, such as those in your Recycle for Hampshire Education Pack and can bring along demonstration activities, such as a “live” wormery, a “mini-mrf” and Rebot – our “robot” made out of recycled materials. We can also do a waste audit of the classroom or pack lunches to examine the waste-related impacts and see where they could be minimised.
For more information, or to arrange a visit please call Tracey Jones on (023) 92 870628.
