Room Hire

The Third Floor of Central Libary has a number of rooms available for hire for rehearsals, meetings, workshops or any other activity. Below are the spaces we have on offer.

The Third Floor

Menuhin Theatre
The Menuhin theatre is ideal for putting on all sorts of performances from small scale theatre productions to live music, dance events and spoken word meetings. It is also a popular venue for conferences and large public meetings. The theatre has fully raked seating which can be arranged in a number of different ways on request. It comes complete with a full professional lighting rig and PA system.
Capacity: 120 people

Dressing room
When booking the Menuhin Theatre for a performance, hirers will automatically get usage of the dressing room for no extra cost. Our dressing room is equipped with an audio relay system, large mirrors, wardrobe racks, a microwave and kettle, and a fully adapted toilet.

Please note: the Dressing Room is not available for hire on its own or available for hire for any other purpose than that associated with a performance in the Menuhin Theatre.

Room F
Room F is the largest of our meetings rooms. It is most widely used for large meetings, theatre company rehearsals and dance and drama classes.  As with all of our rooms it is well lit and heated.
Capacity: 60 people

Room B
Room B is our medium sized room most commonly used for meetings and small scale theatre rehearsals.
Capacity: 40 people

Room D
Room D is our smallest meeting room used mostly for spoken word rehearsals and small meetings.
Capacity: 20 people

Gallery
Our new gallery space is equipped with excellent spot lighting and exhibition boards.  It can accomodate most small to medium exhibitions. The gallery space is not available for hire. However, we are interested in programming work for exhibition by artists or groups either from the local area or touring exhibitions.

Equipment and Resources available

When hiring a room at The Third Floor Arts Centre we automatically provide you with any tables and chairs you require. In addition a wide range of equipment and resources are available to hire for an additional charge. These include overhead projection facilities (OHPs), flipcharts, screens, upright piano and television and video facilities. If there are any other facitilies you think you may need we will do our best to get hold of them for you.

Catering
We can provide catering for your meeting, performance or function if booked in advance. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available as well as various food options including sandwich buffets, light finger buffets and other selections.
