1000 Lakeside - internal atrium This page provides links to new and future office developments in Portsmouth.

1000 Lakeside North Harbour

Lakeside North Harbour is an established office campus, now owned by Highcross, covering an area of 101 acres comprising over 600,000 sqft of HQ office accommodation, including IBM's European HQ.

1000 Lakeside is a 285,846 sqft four-storey building that has recently undergone a £13 million full refurbishment that includes a stunning, new full height glazed atrium.  It is now available to let with floors of 71,881 sqft, individual suites from 3,000 sqft and managed office solutions.  25,000 sqft has already been pre-let with strong interest from other potential occupiers. See 1000 Lakeside website  for more detailed information.

There is also a further 19 acres of undeveloped land that is zoned for office use within the Highcross ownership at Lakeside.

Zurich House

This centrally based landmark office building (90,011 sq ft) with an adjoining 0.42 hectare development site has been purchased by McAleer & Rushe, following the announcement that Zurich will vacate the building to consolidate operations at Solent Business Park. J&J Phase II, Portsmouth

This £25 million scheme by Shepherd Developments is pre-let to Raymarine, a global leader in the supply of electronic products to the leisure marine market, for its HQ (75,000 sqft) plus an engineering, R&D, service repair and test centre in an adjoining building (35,000 sqft).

The new buildings, opposite the Marriott Hotel in Northarbour, are under construction and due for completion in October 2008.   Raymarine currently occupies two separate sites in Portsmouth, three miles from each other, neither of which matches Raymarine’s changing needs.   The new facility will unite the operations of the company and allow room for future expansion.

Malcolm Miller, Raymarine’s Chief Executive said: “This is a sensible development for Raymarine. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of marine technology and this new building will provide us with the facilities that we need to maintain that position."

"The new building also underlines our commitment to the City of Portsmouth.  The City has long been the nautical heart of the country and we remain committed to its continued economic success. Our new headquarters will dominate a prominent location at the entrance to Portsmouth, reaffirming the City’s reputation as a centre for innovation and success.”

More information about this development can be found at the Durngate website.
