Conservation Area 02 - Owen's Southsea

Sussex Terrace Owen's Southsea is the area around Southsea Shopping Centre that was developed from the 1830s onwards by Thomas Ellis Owen and others. It comprises a mixture of terraces such as Portland Terrace and villas often grouped together.

The character of the area is derived from a combination of various elements: buildings and their details in particular, walls and fences, trees and shrubs, gardens and estate layout, together with paving materials and street furniture.
