Child Cycle Training
Each year, many children are successfully trained in Portsmouth. Our instructors are committed to improving the skills and awareness of young cyclists across the city. Courses usually take place in the school holidays at Newbridge Junior School and Court Lane Junior School, but are also run through many schools.
All cycle courses are playground based to start and then move to an on-road training area. Children must be able to ride and control a bicycle and be at least 10 years of age on the date of the test in order to qualify. The course is a week long and the cost of the training is £15 per child which includes a reflective waistcoat to keep. They must have a road worthy bike and a cycle helmet must be worn for the course.
Our next cycle training courses will be held on 16-20th February at Newbridge Junior School. If this course is over subscribed we may be able to run further courses at Southsea Fire Station and Court Lane Junior School.
Please contact Nicola Waight on the number below to book a space for your child. There is also a consent form and further information below which you can send, with your cheque, to the address below. Spaces are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Please do not assume that your child is booked on a course until you receive a confirmation letter in the post.
