Healthy Harvey

Harvey is a cartoon character who was designed for the Food and Health Group, to be used as a promotional tool to put forward the messages of Healthy Eating, Exercise and Oral Health.
Harvey was named by local children within the heart of Portsmouth, and has become a working tool which children can identify and work with whilst making improved choices in dietary intake.
Harvey aims to:
- Increase awareness of what constitutes a healthy balanced diet
- To encourage an increase in fruit and vegetable consumption to link with the 5 a day campaign
- To promote good oral health and hygiene
- To encourage taking regular exercise in compliance with government recommendations ie 60 minutes every day
- To increase confidence, knowledge, skills and self esteem in practical food preparation and cooking
- To be aware of healthy eating on a budget
