Building Control Services

The route to approval of works requires the submission of detailed proposals which would usually include plans, but not always. The submission of an application that includes detailed plans enables an early examination of the proposals and identification of issues that need to be addressed in order to achieve a satisfactory result. After the submission the work is inspected at various stages as it proceeds.
The Building Control Service carries other safety roles including :
- safety at sports grounds
- inspection of dangerous structures
- demolitions
Please remember that the Building Regulations are a separate requirement to planning permission and in many instances approval under both is required by separate applications.
