Mountbatten Centre
In 1978, the City Council, approved the Alexandra Park Master Plan, agreeing in principle to the siting of a new Sports Centre to serve the Portsmouth area.Alexandra Park was chosen as the most suitable site, as it was well located from an access point of view, popular, already included a running track and cycle track, had water resources nearby, and provided considerable potential for the future expansion of facilities.
