Hearing Procedure

• The Chair will introduce members and officers to the applicant.
• The applicant or their representative will introduce themselves to the Committee.
• The Licensing Officer will present the relevant facts in support of the recommendation.The applicant or their representative may ask questions of the Licensing Officer.
  The Committee may ask questions of the Licensing Officer.
• The Police, Fire Authority or other council officers if represented at Committee may present relevant factsThe applicant or their representative may ask questions.
  The Committee may ask questions.
  The Licensing Officer may ask questions.
• The applicant or their representative will present their case.The Committee may ask questions.
  The Licensing Officer may ask questions.
  The Police, Fire Authority or other officers may ask questions.
• Objectors, other third parties or ward councillors will present their case.
  The applicant may ask questions.
  The Committee may ask questions.
  The Licensing Officer may ask questions
• The Licensing Officer if necessary summarises the case and offers any proposed changes to the original recommendation in light of the evidence heard.
  The applicant or their representative summarises the case.
  The Committee decide on the matter in private and all persons except the legal adviser and committee administrator withdraw from the hearing.< BR>

  NOTES TO FULL AND SIMPLIFIED HEARING PROCEDURES
  1. If the Committee, when in private session, need to question or clarify a matter with either the Licensing Officer or applicant then they shall do so in the presence of both parties.
  2. Members must be present throughout the hearing and must not communicate with any officer, the applicant or other third party except in accordance with the procedure rules.
