Adjournment Requests
Sometimes matters are raised at the beginning of, or during, contested hearings which leads the applicant or their legal adviser to request an adjournment. A good example is if an objector raises an issue not previously considered. In most cases the chair will give the applicant an opportunity to consider such evidence, (by way of a break in proceedings) and ask for the hearing to then continue. If however, the matters raised are of such significance that the hearing cannot be continued then the Committee will hear an application to formally adjourn the proceedings.
