Mobile phones - remote monitoring of base stations
Cassiopea Project
Vodafone is the first UK operator to install the Cassiopea permanent remote electromagnetic field (EMF) monitoring device in the UK.
The aim of the Cassiopea Project is to provide a simple and affordable service which can gather and display data for local communities and other stakeholders in a clear and comprehensive manner. Cassiopea will allow instant verification of the conformity of EMF levels in the environment to current international guidelines.
We have met Vodafone representatives to discuss the Cassiopea Project to monitor the electromagnetic waves for an existing mast installed in Paulsgrove. We have agreed to work together with Vodafone and a monitoring unit (pictured) was installed on the roof of Paulsgrove Primary School.
The monitoring system provides data 24 hours a day, seven days a week and we will use GSM technology to send information to a central server and ultimately to this web page.
