Our Policy Statement
- To provide a first class licensing and registration service reflecting on the requirements of public safety.
- To consider and consult the views of residents to ensure public order and prevent nuisances associated with the use of Licensed premises.
- To consider and consult the views of license holders to help them provide a good public service.
- To reduce bureacracy, red tape and jargon for the public, applicants and license holders and to review our working practices constantly.
- To take strong enforcement action, be pro-active and maintain good links with the Police, Fire Brigade and other agencies.
- To ensure fairness and consideration (on merit) of each and every licensing application.
- To be honest, open in our dealings and approachable. To admit our mistakes and learn from them.
- To implement the policies of the Licensing Committee and have regard to the Council's core values, priorities and pledges. (Copy displayed in our office)
