Street Entertainment
A general guide to the law, policies and requirements for obtaining a street entertainment permit. If you want to provide street entertainment by way of 'busking' in Portsmouth then you must hold a Street Entertainment Permit issued to you by the Portsmouth City Council. You are liable to be 'moved on' from the pedestrian precinct area(s) by the Police or ourselves if you busk without the benefit of a permit.
We will be asking you to complete an application form and to provide other information in order that we can process your application. All information received will be treated with respect and in confidence.
Please read this section carefully. Feel free to ask (or phone) for advice at any time on. It might help if you also read "Take a Look at Licensing" which is a general guide to our services and is available on request.
