Houses in multiple occupation (HMOs)
Last updated: 26 October 2012 17:00 UKA Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) - Houses in multiple occupation: ensuring mixed and balanced communities sets out how Policy PCS20 of the adopted Portsmouth Plan will be implemented. The approach set out in the SPD has been informed by research carried out by the city council.
The council adopted the SPD on 16 October 2012. An adoption statement is available. The SPD will be a material consideration in the determination of planning applications for Class C4 use, HMOs in sui generis use and mixed Class C3/C4 use.
Article 4 Direction
The city council has also made an Article 4 Direction (Art 4/HMO/1) relating to HMOs which came into force on 1 November 2011.
