South East Plan
The Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) for the South East of England (known as the South East Plan) was published by the Government Office for the South East of England on 7th May 2009.This sets out the long term spatial planning framework for the region up until 2026.
The policies within the South East plan form part of the development plan for Portsmouth and will now be considered in planning applications and appeals relating to development.
Portsmouth is identified as a focus for investment and development through the plan period and as a result we are required to provide 14,700 homes and substantial amounts of employment floorspace.
The forthcoming Core Strategy will include further details on how we will achieve this.
