Shearwater is a residential care home specialising in dementia care.
It's located in Moorings Way and is part of the Milton Village development. At Shearwater, we aim to provide a high quality service designed to meet the individual needs of residents.
We have 60 spacious single rooms with ensuite shower and toilet facilities. The home is divided into six units to provide small group living areas, creating a relaxed and homely atmosphere.
Communal facilities include:
- lounge and dining areas
- quiet areas
- activities room
The home also has a secure courtyard and side garden for residents and visitors to enjoy. Meals are prepared and cooked on the premises for quality and freshness, any special dietary needs will be accommodated.
Working with residents, their families, and other representatives, we agree and implement care plans designed to meet physical, emotional, social and cultural needs, encouraging them to be as independent as possible and to be involved in all aspects of the care they receive. We encourage residents to continue to pursue their hobbies and interests.
Prospective service users will have been allocated a social worker or care manager for a needs assessment to determine whether a residential placement would be appropriate. A further assessment will be carried out by the staff at Shearwater. Prospective service users are encouraged to visit the home with family and/or friends prior to admission.
Shearwater is registered with the Care Quality Commission.
