Longdean Lodge provides rehabilitation, transitional and respite services for older people.
Longdean Lodge has 29 single rooms, all with vanity washbasins, single beds and storage space. The rooms are divided into four units, each providing a homely environment for residents. Outside, residents can enjoy the garden and two patio areas which are designed to be easy to get around for residents using wheelchairs or mobility aids.
All meals are prepared and cooked on the premises, to make sure the food is fresh, good quality and we can accomodate any special dietary needs.
- The Victory Unit is our specialist rehabilitation service that helps older people to regain the skills and confidence they need to live independently. It is available to people leaving hospital, or who are coming out of adult placement or residential care. Our aim is that within six weeks you will feel confident in your own ability to take care of yourself and will have achieved your personal goals.
- Our transitional service is a residential placement for up to four weeks for people leaving hospital, who may need time to make plans for their future, for example arranging suitable accomodation, care and support.
- Our respite service can cater for stays ranging from a few days to two weeks, enabling carers to take a break.
To receive any of our services an assessment of needs is always carried out prior to admission by a social worker. For more information or to request an assessment contact Adult Social Care on 023 9268 0810.
All the staff are fully trained in all aspects of care that enable people to achieve their potential for independence. Longdean Lodge is run by Portsmouth City Council and is registered with the Care Quality Commission.
