Financial help to maintain independence
We have a range of financial assistance packages to help you cover the cost of improvements to your home.
Overview of financial assistance packages
Some financial assistance packages are discretionary and are subject to funds being available. Assistance may be limited or discontinued at any time. Your application will need to be supported by a referral from a social service occupational therapist. Terms and conditions apply.
Disabled facilities grant
A grant of up to £30,000 is available to help you meet the cost of adapting your home. Adaptations could include alterations to kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, heating, lighting and power facilities and access to the property. Adaptations can also be made to help people with disabilities care for dependent residents.
Disabled facilities assistance
An interest free loan of up to £25,000 is available to help you meet the cost of adapting your home for disabled facilities. It can also be used to cover the applicants contribution of a disabled facilities grant. Adaptations could include suitable alternative options to those listed under the disabled facilities grant, specialist treatment facilities, a safe play area, facilities to help a disabled person work from home or relocation to a more suitable home.
Disabled persons equipment replacement assistance
A means tested grant of up to £5,000 is available to replace equipment that is no longer serviceable or broken. This could include replacement of stair lifts or shower units.
Palliative care assistance
A grant is available to fund the installation of a stair lift
