Integrated Youth Support Services
Last updated: 03 December 2012 12:24 UKWe employ Youth Advisers in schools and youth centres across Portsmouth who can give information, advice and guidance on issues young people may be faced with.
We want to make sure every young person has a positive and enjoyable life. To make sure we do this, we are working around the five Every Child Matters main priorities:
Be Healthy ;
Stay safe ;
Enjoy and achieve ;
Make a positive contribution and
Achieve economic wellbeing
The following services are offered to all young people aged between 9 and 19 (or up to 25 for young people who have learning difficulties and disabilities):
Information, advice and guidance
- helping young people make the right learning and career choices and enabling them to make a successful transition into adulthood. Youth advisers work in schools across Portsmouth, to find out who the youth adviser is in school contact us iyss@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
Integrated Targeted Youth Support Service
- For vulnerable young people who may not meet traditional thresholds for statutory or specialist services but who, without help, are at future risk of further problems such as substance misuse, youth offending, teenage pregnancy and homelessness.
If you are aged 16-19 (or up to 25 for young people who have learning difficulties and disabilities):
and not in education, employment or training, or are looking to change your job, visit our Go for It Centre in Portsmouth.
If you would like to refer a young person to the Integrated Targeted Youth Support Services for support from an adviser, please complete referral form and send in to the address on the form.
