When travelling

Every day we all travel around somehow, even if it is just walking around our homes. When we leave home we then have to choose how to travel to our destination. There are many sustainable development travel top tips that could be considered:

• cut down car journeys
• drive slowly
• share car journeys
• walk more often, including taking children to school, it’s the healthiest, cheapest and greenest option
• next time you buy a car consider fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly car options
• use public transport, buses and trains, rather than a car
• avoid flights, especially long haul and consider holidaying in the UK or if you do travel abroad try to offset your carbon emissions
