Garden Waste Drop Off Days
Following the success of last years ‘garden waste drop off days’, gardeners will again be able to dispose of their green garden waste by bringing it along to one of the two existing drop off sites from Sunday March 2nd.
The sites will be open from 9am to 2pm on the first Sunday of every month during the main growing season, starting on March 2 and ending on November 2.
The sites are located at Burrfields Road recreation ground car park in Copnor and Victoria Avenue car park, near Clarence Parade in Southsea. (Please see the maps in PDF format below)
The drop-off sites will accept all freshly-cut green, organic garden waste including weeds, prunings and trimmings. Branches can be taken, as long as they are no bigger than 10cm in diameter.
The waste will be processed at the Down End composting facility in Fareham and turned into Pro-Grow soil conditioner, which gardeners can buy at the Port Solent HWRC.
Drop Off Days remaining in 2008
