How you can help

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Everyone has their part to play in conserving our natural environment. And all your actions, no matter how big or how small, do make a difference.

Remember: everything that goes into your rubbish bin goes straight to the Energy Recovery Facility to be burnt, although this generates electricity, burning reyclables is a waste of valuable resources.

By being aware of this simple principle when out shopping you can help minimise the amount of rubbish that goes to landfill.
Also when shopping look out for items that use recycled products and this will encourage manufacturers and retailers to produce and stock them.

Moving house or spring cleaning or just have a good old a sort out? - chances are that items you're planning to throw away will be just what someone else is looking for!

Use simple everyday ways to reduce waste and re-use resources. Neighbours, charities and local recycling organisations often have good uses for items you no longer want or use.

Reducing, reusing and recycling, saves energy, helps reduce pollution, and conserves natural resources and habitat. As well as being the best option for the environment it also can save you money!

So in addition to the subjects we have already covered – composting and recycling household waste – here a few more ideas on how to reduce, reuse and recycle.
