Portsmouth City Council City Crest

Draft Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) - consultation

Modern terraced housing The Portsmouth Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) will form a key component of the evidence base for the city’s emerging Local Development Framework and will support the delivery of sufficient land for housing in order to meet the needs of the city’s population.

The SHLAA identifies sites that have the potential for housing, assesses how many units they can accommodate and suggests a timeframe for when these sites could become available. We are required to demonstrate a rolling five year supply of deliverable land for housing, set out through a SHLAA.

We would like your views on Portsmouth’s draft SHLAA.  Below are links to the report and location maps of each site (Appendix 1), a detailed breakdown of each site (Appendix 2) and two comment forms.  You can comment on the sites in the draft report or suggest new sites for consideration. Please send us your comments before 30 January 2009.
