Picture Book Section
The winner of the 2008 award was "When a Monster is Born" by Sean Taylor and illustrated by Nick Sharratt.
The Picture book section of the award was judged by 1,358 Year 1 pupils from 28 schools. Nick Sharratt will be visiting selected Portsmouth schools in early July.
The shortlisted books were:
