Bursary and Graduate Leader Funding
Early Years are able to provide bursaries to eligible practitioners who work within Portsmouth childcare settings. These bursaries are contributions towards accredited course fees.If you work in full day care (paid or voluntary or over 10 hours per week) in a private, voluntary or independent setting you may be eligible for a bursary for NVQ Levels 2 - 4 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.
If you work in a maintained Early Years setting you may be eligible for a bursary for NVQ Levels 2 - 4 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development, or the Foundation Degree.
Please see the Bursary policy and application form below to check your eligibility.
Private, voluntary and independent settings may be eligible to apply for the Graduate Leader Funding. This funding comes from the CWDC and is intended to assist in raising the professional identity of Early Years Practitioners and to get graduate leaders in all PVI settings by 2015.
The funding can be used:
- for professional development for graduate leaders
- to fund and support an employee (who already has an NVQ level 3 qualification) through their Foundation Degree
- to supplement the salary of a graduate leader
- to supplement the salary of a graduate leader that settings want to employ
Please see the Graduate Leader Funding terms and conditions and application form below for further details.
All eligible Early Years Practitioners and/or settings should now have received information about how to apply for a bursary and how to apply for Graduate Leader Funding.
