English Conversation Classes: The Library Service is now running an informal conversation group for ESOL students wishing to improve their English. The group meet Thursdays from 4pm to 5pm on the First Floor in Portsmouth Central Library. Attendance is by prior arrangement only.
Classes resume Thursday 1st May and continue until the 10th July. These dates are provisional and may be subject to change. Students are asked to bring a pen, paper, a folder and a dictionary (English and your first language).

Under Fives Fun afternoon: Join us at Beddow library for stories, songs and crafts for babies and toddlers.

Children's Team Read Summer Challenge: Sign-up for the challenge and read six books over the summer holidays. Each child taking part receives a Team Read fold-out poster and can collect sheets of stickers for each book they read. Children who complete the challenge are invited to a free event at Southsea Castle on Saturday 20th September to collect their winner's medal and certificate.

Murder Mystery Night: Join us for a murder mystery evening at Portsmouth Central Library and a chance to solve a murder. Local crime writers Pauline Rowson and June Hampson will be on hand to offer advice to all would-be sleuths.

Tickets cost £3 which includes a glass of Pimms.
