Ask Consumer Education Resource & Information Centre (CEdRIC)

CONSUMER EDUCATION RESOURCE & INFORMATION CENTRE

What exactly is Ask CEdRIC?

CEdRIC stands for the Consumer Education Resource and Information Centre.  Ask CEdRIC is actually the name of the one-stop internet site that contains information and links to all consumer education resources produced by Trading Standards and other consumer organisations. It includes three sections suitable for use with Schools (based on the new Citizenship Curriculum), Community Groups and Business.

Business Education & Information

The Ask CEdRIC website includes a Business Education Section, designed specifically for the benefit of business:

  • Structured around what they need to know
  • Covering all major Trading Standards legislation
  • Drawn up in consultation with Trading Standards and business
  • Designed for use in all levels of business
  • Ready to use checklists, Frequently Asked Questions and training modules

The business site is referenced to the best business information resources available from Trading Standards throughout the UK.  The information is updated by Trading Standards professionals and includes a wide variety of links to other supporting web-resources such as the DTI and the FSA.

Resources for Schools

The Ask CEdRIC schools section is aimed at teaching young people about their consumer rights and responsibilities. Teachers and students are able to obtain all the consumer education information and resources they need to help teach/learn about parts of the newly introduced citizenship subject - part of the National Curriculum.

Community Resources

The community section of the Ask CEdRIC website will deliver consumer education for adults. This portal will provide a one-stop shop for a range of on-line materials and resources aimed at helping adults develop their consumer skills and knowledge.
