Jobs at Arts Services

Volunteer Opportunities & Work Placements

The Arts Services team occasionally take on volunteers to help with marketing tasks, running the Third Floor Arts Centre venue and general office admin.

Commisions Programming

Arts Services work closely with artists and arts organisations.  We comission artists for public arts projects, installations and to run educational workshops.  We also program a whole range of arts activity at The Third Floor Arts Centre and elsewhere.

Training & professional development

Arts Services can help you if you are an artist with getting further training in a whole range of areas.  We can put you in touch with the right people who run courses, seminars and meetings in the arts.  We also notify artists on our Artsdata scheme about training courses coming up in the area or meetings you may be interested in coming along to. 

Useful places to start looking for further information on training and careers are as follows:

  • University of Portsmouth
    The School of Art, Design and Media at the University of Portsmouth has a range of courses from pre-degree to postgraduate.

  • University of Sussex
    The Centre for Continuing Education at University of Sussex in Brighton offers postgraduate courses in Arts & Cultural Management as well as Creative Writing and others.

  • South Downs College
    South Downs College offer a range of courses both full-time and part-time.

  • Portsmouth College
    Offering a number of courses in the Performing Arts. Artswork Informal, tailored and accredited training initiatives delivered through the Artsplan programme.
