Copnor Comment 1

Copnor Road
May 2008
Comment - My son has just started at St Albans Pre-school opposite Copnor fire station on Copnor Road.  My concern is the amount of parents and children crossing from the junction of Powerscourt Road and Copnor Road.  There are crossings to the left and right, but they are some distance from the Pre-school, can a crossing be put in please before there is a serious accident?

Response - The Traffic & Road Safety Team have recently recruited an School Crossing Patrol to cross on the crossing by Copnor Junior School, and hopefully they will be in place shortly.  There is a further pelican crossing point adjacent to New Road.  St Albans falls in the middle of these two points.

It is not in our remit to provide School Crossing Patrol's to pre-schools at this time, therefore we would be unable to place one at this point. There are already the two points in close proximity for parents to use to ensure the safe crossing of Copnor Road.
