Last updated: 05 May 2012 18:59 UKThe Big Screen and Guildhall Square are now known as the Portsmouth Live Site - one of only 22 London 2012 Live Sites for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Live Site will be the place to experience the excitement of the London 2012 Games with the Big Screen showing the best of the action every day enabling spectators to witness every Team GB medal winning performance and celebrate records being broken.
There are some key moments when crowds are expected to flock to the Big Screen so they can say ‘I was there’ for some once-in-a-lifetime moments, including:

27 July – The Olympic Opening Ceremony: Danny Boyle’s ‘Isles of Wonder’ show will be watched by over a billion people around the world

4 August – Super Saturday: The day the most medals are won during the Olympic Games

5 August – 100 metre final: The moment the world holds it’s breath for just over 9 seconds

12 August – The Olympic Closing Ceremony: Kim Gavin’s ‘A Symphony of British Music’ is sure to have you dancing in the square
In addition to this, the Guildhall Square will be dressed with London 2012 branding, a spectator area, sports activities and a programme of live events throughout the summer bringing this event space to life as part of the Portsmouth Live Site experience.
