Get inspired by the Paralympics with FREE taster sessions
Last updated: 16 October 2012 14:51
Fancy having a go at some of the sports you’ve cheered ParalympicsGB along to over the past week? Get down to the Portsmouth Live Site (Guildhall Square) this week and get involved!
Portsmouth City Council is offering FREE taster sessions for you this week to get involved and get active with. Sessions will take place daily between 12 noon and 2pm, from today (Monday, 3 September) until Friday, 7 September.
We are in the final week of the Paralympic Games and now is your chance to give it a go.
You can try various activities and see which ones you take a shine to. If you want to be a goal scorer, you can try Goalball on Tuesday, 4 September. Or perhaps if you’d prefer you can give Sitting Volleyball and Tennis a go on Wednesday?
If you have visual impairments, make the most of these free sessions and have a go at rowing on Thursday. Could you be a future gold medallist in running or wheelchair racing? See if you’ve got what it takes this Friday.
Craig Willcock, cultural development officer said: “This week, Guildhall Square will have a great atmosphere so come along and get involved. You might be really good at some of the activities, but you won’t know unless you give it a go.
“The London 2012 Games are coming to an end, so whilst you’re in the sporting spirit, get involved and get active this week!”
