New Portsmouth App for visitors

Portsmouth Visitor Information Service is launching a great new app which guides visitors around the historic waterfront city.

For your chance to win a weekend break in Portsmouth, just download the app, find the Holiday Inn Hotel and send us a screen shot. Full details on how to enter the competition can be found on the Visit Portsmouth homepage.

The Portsmouth App is the easily accessible guidebook at your fingertips. Information is fed to the app via the Visit Portsmouth website. It’s free to download and you’ll never miss a trick again.

Cllr Mike Hancock, cabinet member for planning, regeneration and economic development at the council, said:

“This is a great new app that allows visitors to find out more about this historic city. At the touch of a button people can find out about all the great events and activities going on in Portsmouth. The information is regularly updated, so people can keep it on their phones and refer to it again and again. I hope it encourages more people to visit our glorious seafront city, and enjoy everything we have to offer.”

The Portsmouth App has all the information you need to make the most of your visit, from the dizzy heights of the Spinnaker Tower to the Historic Dockyard, museums and plenty of attractions. It also contains lots of handy information and tips about shopping, food and drink venues, and events and activities.

The main sections include Things to Do, Food and Drink, What’s On, Where to Stay and Shopping. The app also contains businesses listings with images, descriptions, opening times, admission prices, locations and contact details.

There is also a ‘favourites’ function which allows you to build your own personalised plan of places to visit, where to eat, and things to do during your visit.
