Who can take part?

There are two ways that you can take part in the BIG Green Commuter Challenge either the organisation that you work for is taking part or you can take part as an individual.

The organisation you work for is taking part

You can take part and help them win the BIG Green Commuter Challenge Trophy.

The Commuter Challenge Co-ordinator in your workplace will be contacting you about how to get involved.  In most cases you should record the miles that you have saved on this website (this facility will be live in mid May 2008).  If you do not have internet access at your workplace the workplace Coordinator will be making other arrangements.

To find out if the organisations that you work for can take part look at Rules.

If you would like the organisation that your work for to take part ask them to look at this website or ask them to contact Amanda Morris on 023 9284 1332 or amanda.morris@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.

Take part as an individual
If the organisation that you work for is not taking part you can still take part in your own right.   You simply need to be living or working in the Portsmouth travel to work area (Fareham, Gosport, Waterlooville, Havant and Portsmouth) and travelling to work on that day.

Then record the miles you have saved for the journey to and from work and any business journeys that you make during the day.

Anyone who uses alternatives to the driving alone in their during the week of 12 - 16 May 2008 can take part in the Challenge. That includes people who usually use alternatives to the car, including car sharing.

Your name will be entered into the prize draw for a chance to win one of the many fabulous prizes and your miles will be added to the total number of miles saved

Add up all the miles that you the miles saved during the week and record them on this website (this facility will be live in mid May 2008).
