Objectives of the BIG Green Commuter Challenge
The main objectives of the BIG Green Commuter Challenge are to:-- increase the number of commuters that use active and sustainable modes of transport
- to decrease the number of single occupant vehicles as a means to reduce emissions and air pollution
- to encourage individuals to explore healthier options
- to recognise and reward the individuals and groups that support environmentally healthy commuting options
- to publicise the social, personal and environmental benefits of sustainable commuting and encourage other commuters to make healthy choices
