Whether you're a regular theatre or gallery goer or you're new to the arts and don't know quite what to expect, there's something for everyone on the third floor of the Norrish Central Library.
Our 120 seat Menuhin Theatre plays host to visiting and local theatre companies, children's shows, film, live music, dance, spoken word and comedy. There are a range of weekly classes and workshops on offer for varying age ranges and abilities and a gallery space with a diverse programme of temporary exhibitions throughout the year. The Arts Centre is available for hire at very competitve rates - we have numerous rooms available for functions, rehearsals, classes, workshops, meetings and seminars. The theatre space is also available for hire.

How to get to us
The Third Floor Arts Centre is located in the Norrish Central Library, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth. A link to a map of the location can be found at the bottom of this page.
Rail - Portsmouth & Southsea station is a five minute walk away with network links to all stations. Call 08457 484950 or click on the link to The Trainline website to the right of this page.
Bus - Most bus routes into Portsmouth stop at the city centre's Commercial Road shopping precinct, which is just a five minute walk away. Detailed information can be obtained from First Bus by calling 023 9286 2412 or clicking on the link to their website, First Group, to the right of this page. To contact Stagecoach call 0845 121 0170 or click on the link to their website.
Road - Portsmouth is easily accessible by road. The M275 leads straight into the heart of the city and Portsmouth Guildhall is clearly signposted. There is ample car parking available in and around the Guildhall Square area.
Please note that there are 24 hour car parking charges in effect at all of the public car parks in the area. However, those attending performances at the Third Floor Arts Centre, Guildhall and New Theatre Royal (Guildhall Walk) are eligable to purchase car parking tickets at a special concession rate. Car parking tickets should be purchased at the same time as purchasing tickets for a show or by contacting us on 023 9283 4183.
