Allotments

There are 1,441 allotment plots on 10 sites across the city and plots are usually 5 or 10 rods in size. A 10 rod plot is about 25 by 10 metres or 250m², which includes one pathway. Most sites have a variety of each size to suit all requirements. Rental costs for an allotment are very modest and based on the size of the individual plot. When you are offered a plot you will be required to sign a simple tenancy agreement, which sets out your rights and responsibilities. You will be expected to keep your plot cultivated and tidy.
