Housing development

Housing development is based within the council's Local Authority Housing department. We are working towards one of Portsmouth City Council's top priorities - to improve the quality and affordability of housing in Portsmouth. We are responsible for:

identifying sites for development on land owned by the council's Local Authority Housing department
promoting opportunities to develop new affordable housing
creating links with registered social landlords, developers and consultans to maximise the return from housing assets
managing the housing commercial portfolio which contains various retail and office units
