Where is the Big Screen Portsmouth?
Last updated: 16 March 2010 11:48 UKThe Big Screen Portsmouth is situated in the centre of Portsmouth, in Guildhall Square and is positioned in front of the Mountbatten Gallery of our Civic Offices.
Guildhall Square was chosen as it is easily accessible to all and makes the public space come to life. This is an ideal location as the square is a key pedestrian area within the city centre close to the popular bars and restaurants in Guildhall Walk, Portsmouth and Southsea train station and within a few minutes walk of the main shopping precinct of Commercial Road.
At present the square is a key meeting point, popular with shoppers, workers having their lunch and a cultural spot with visitors.
The Big Screen will build upon this and help Portsmouth create a vibrant, interactive and creative city centre enabling the local residents and visitors to share cultural events with the rest of the UK.
