At the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, 32 out of 47 Team GB Olympic medals were won by students, graduates or alumni. The engagement with schools, colleges and universities is therefore key.

The Olympic and Paralympic Games are an exceptional opportunity to engage and inspire young people. The official London 2012 education programme was launched in September 2008 and aims to offer children and young people in the UK and around the world many ways to get involved - no matter what their inspiration.

The Education section on the London 2012 website is a good starting point for information for all key stages to participate in, plus more information on other levels of education.

We are currently looking into locally based opportunities for children, families, schools and colleges to be involved in. These will be promoted through this web page so look out for further information shortly.
